Great room for people with mobility issues, debilitating diseases or are aging and just aren’t moving like they used to.
This room I believe is a standard room at the Hampton Inn in Romulus, MI. Although it does have a bathtub which makes it not so wheelchair friendly, that is unless they were to offer bath transfer benches which I don’t know if they do.
So although this room is wheelchair friendly it is not completely accessible only due to the bathtub.
Here are some photos:
Nice roll under sink complete with insulated pipes. |
Hair dryer mounted lower for someone who may be seated. |
Comfort height toilet, grab bars around toilet and shelf for towels is within reach range for someone in a wheelchair. |
Grab bars everywhere for safety, handheld shower on a glide bar. |
Closet with iron and clothing rack mounted lower for someone in a wheelchair to access. |
2 peepholes, 1 at eye level for someone standing and 1 at eye level for someone seated. |
This room was very large with 5′ on each side of the bed to allow for easy maneuverability for someone in a wheelchair. Great job utilizing universal design in the hotel room Hampton Inn!!
