CHALLENGE:  Thank you to people who have submitted ideas so far.:-)

I met an artist with Multiple Sclerosis in Portugal and he was kind enough to let me see his home.  I put together a blog post with details.  I was hoping we could help him make his home work better for him.

Please check out this blog post and email suggestions or comment on the post.  The big issues are:

  • Bathroom:  The toilet and the shower bench are too low, and I don’t think reconstruction is an option.
  • Toilet hygiene.
  • Front door use for visitors and general access.
  • Living room chair too low.
  • He is an artist who uses his iPad for his art.  I think he would benefit from some sort of mount.  Here’s his website:  https://www.1001.org/
  • He needs home automation in general.

Here’s the link, please help if you can:  https://hmota.net/accessible-home-for-multiple-sclerosis-in-portugal/

Meetings are the 1st and 3rd Mondays of the month at 8:00 pm eastern time.  Hope you can make it!!

Boldly,

Karen Koch, OT, HMOTA, ECHM, CAPS, Licensed builder
