Do You Know a Shower/Commode Chair the ROCKS? This one does…

April 16, 2015 By Karen Koch

Well it doesn’t rock literally but it rolls and its one of my favorite shower/commode chairs on the market.

Mariner Shower/Commode Chair

This is my favorite basic rolling shower chair.  Remember you only need a rolling shower chair if you have a roll-in shower, seems obvious hunh?

What I love about the Mariner Shower/Commode Chair:

  • Weight capacity 300 pounds.
  • Soft cushioned seat.
  • Cut-out you can sit on or take out to use as a commode chair.
  • Removable basket and bucket for commode.
  • Mount the seat so the cut-out faces to the front, left, or right.  To allow for easy access to lower body.
  • Folds-up for easy storage.
  • Swing-away footrests.
  • Brakes for self-propelled shower/commode chair, locking casters for attendant propelled shower/commode chair.
  • Flip-up armrests.
  • Mariner Attendant Propelled Shower/Commode Chair
  • For the self-propelled model the tire extends 3/4″ above the seat.

Other Shower/Commode Chairs that the Seat Cut-Out Can Be Changed:

RAZ Design Shower/Commode Chair:

This is a great shower chair for people who need assistance in maintaining an upright posture.  This shower/commode chair is comfortable and top of the line.

  • Weight capacity 300 pounds.
  • Beautiful seat with ‘Ishial and Pelvic Alignment System’, perfect for people who are unable to maintain a seated position.
  • Removable basket and bucket for commode.
  • Mount the seat so the cut-out faces to the front, left, or right.  To allow for easy access to lower body.  Must order desired seat cut-out angle when ordering chair, cannot change seat cut-out after chair arrives.
  • Seats are custom molded so many options for configurations.
  • Swing-away footrests.
  • Brakes for self-propelled shower/commode chair, locking casters for attendant propelled shower/commode chair.
  • Flip-up armrests.
  • This also has a tilt-in-space version which tilts up to 40-degrees to assist with maintaining posture and pressure relief.

What is really cool about the RAZ shower/commode chair is the seat, which can be custom molded but here are some standard features:

  • seat locks in place for transfers
  • removes easily for cleaning
  • optional spacers for anterior or posterior seat angle adjustment [Z491]
  • provides 2” of fore/aft adjustment so the seat can be aligned with the pelvis
Options for the RAZ seats.
