Brushed Nickel Elegant ADA Bathroom Faucet/Grab Bar Bathroom Fixtures

December 8, 2013 By Karen Koch

The classic look of Kingsley offers enthusiasts of traditional style the opportunity to make their rooms stand out. Each understated detail comes together to create an enduring style.

This collection comes in:

  • Chrome.
  • Antique nickel.
  • Antique bronze.
  •  Brushed nickel.
  • Oil rubbed bronze.
  • Polished brass.
  • Wrought iron.

I always prefer one-handled bathroom faucets over two-handled bathroom faucets.  It’s typically easier for people to adjust the temperature with one hand.

One-handled faucets are highly recommended for people with cognitive impairments.  People with cognitive impairments typically turn on and turn off one faucet and not the other, this causes two problems:
  • ·      If it’s the hot water they turn on then the chances for scalding increases significantly.
  • ·      Only one handle gets turned off the hot or the cold, leaving either the hot or the cold water.

This Kingsley toilet paper holder flips up which is ideal for people with limited fine motor skills or for me who just loves things to be easy.  Love this design.

Why install a towel bar that can be ripped off the wall.  Instead of towel bars install grab bars attached to the studs.  If someone is going to fall give them something to grab that will give them a chance of reducing injury.

I recommend a fixed head and a handheld shower for luxury, style and of course function.

Never install knobs on cabinetry they are too difficult to grab for someone with arthritis or fine motor issues, even a broken finger makes grabbing knobs difficult.  ALWAYS go for the pulls.

Last but not least, don’t forget the pipe insulation for your roll-under sink.:-)

Anyone know of any bathroom suites with grab bars that have great style?  Please share.:-)
