ADA: Brushed Nickel Designer Grab Bar and Bathroom Fixture Set that Looks Great with Any Style

December 19, 2013 By Karen Koch

With intricate architectural features that transcend time, Brantford faucets and accessories give any bath a polished, traditional look. Classic lever handles, a tapered spout and globe finial give this collection universal appeal.

This collection comes in:

  • Brushed nickel.
  • Chrome.
  • Oil rubbed bronze.

I always prefer one-handled bathroom faucets over two-handled bathroom faucets.  It’s typically easier for people to adjust the temperature with one hand.

One-handled faucets are highly recommended for people with cognitive impairments.  People with cognitive impairments typically turn on and turn off one faucet and not the other, this causes two problems:

·      If it’s the hot water they turn on then the chances for scalding increases significantly.

·      Only one handle gets turned off the hot or the cold, leaving either the hot or the cold water.

When designing for accessibility utilize a grab bar instead of a towel bar to allow for safety and beauty. Grab bars must be anchored securely to studs.

This pivoting toilet paper holder not only looks good but makes changing the toilet paper roll easy and convenient for everyone.  When designing a bathroom for someone who is elderly or has poor fine motor skills a pivoting toilet paper holder is a requirement.

This is a kitchen faucet that is perfect for the bathroom sink when you need a taller faucet for cleaning supplies.

I recommend a fixed head and a handheld shower for luxury, style, and of course function.

Moen doesn’t actually have a Brantford handheld shower, but this brushed nickel handheld shower paired with a Brantford shower control matches nicely.
